This is the twenty-third category of the 11th Annual AFT Film Awards to be announced. The AFT Awards are my own personal choices for the best in film of each year and the best in television of each season. Christopher Nolan (Dunkirk) didn’t need outer space or time travel to tell a compelling story filled with intensity and expert pacing. Jamie M. Dagg (Sweet Virginia) helmed a gripping, suspenseful film with focus and a fierce commitment to his characters.
