Mending The Line (2022) opens June 9
When I received information concerning MENDING THE LINE my thought was the cast was excellent and I will see it based on that. It was a good choice because the cast makes the film a joy.
The plot of the film has a wounded soldier(Sinqa Walls) looking to come to terms with what happened in Afghanistan. Emotionally scarred what he wants to do is go back and die. Ending up in the wilds of Montana he makes the acquaintance of a librarian (Perry Mattfield) who reads to vets and a cranky older guy who loves to fish (Brian Cox). How the trio interact changes their lives for the better.
I am not going to lie, this film does exactly what you think it will. There are no great surprises here just great actors giving us great characters we can relate to. The result is a film that puts a smile on our face and makes us feel warm and fuzzy. This is the best sort of film, one you run across on cable and you stop to watch a favorite moment, which means you are locked there until the end credits roll.
I really had a good time with this film. And while I know the film could easily lose about 20 minutes without losing anything, I know I’ll be watching this a couple more times down the road.
