Dara McGarry
We're delighted to welcome back David Prescott, Senior Vice President of Creative Production at Double Negative, and Dara McGarry, Artist Manager at Double Negative, for some online feedback with our students on Monday 4 May.

David and Dara will be joining us online via Google Meet and Syncsketch to offer feedback to our second year animation students on their film projects.

Industry feedback is at the heart of what we do at Escape Studios; it helps our students to connect with the commercial world and make sure we're teaching industry-relevant skills.

David Prescott
David Prescott
David Prescott has over 20 years of experience working in live action, visual effects and animation for feature films and commercial production. He is experienced in visual effects, CG animation, on-set production, post production and research & development.  David was the VFX supervisor on Rise of the Guardians and Transformers.  David's many film credits include classics such as Fight Club, Armageddon, Titanic and The Fifth Element.

Dara McGarry
Dara McGarry is Artist Manager at Double Negative; she works in talent, production, and resource management at DNeg. Prior to joing DNeg she had a successful career as an actor - you can see her IMDB profile here; her acting credits include Meet the Robinsons (2007), Chicken Little (2005) and Assassin's Creed (2016).

Studio Project Module PR5001
David and Dara have generously agreed to give up their time to take a look at our second year animation projects, part of the "Studio Project" Module PR5001, a 2nd year film-making module worth 45 credits, in which our students form themselves into groups and create short animated films, working to a variety of creative briefs.

Industry feedback
Here at Escape Studios we also host regular industry feedback sessions, where students can get feedback from industry guests.  Industry feedback forms one of the five pillars of "The Escape Method"; important because it helps to keep us grounded in the real world of the animation industry.

Regular industry contact helps remind us of what animators will be expected to do when they are facing actual clients.

Our students will be presenting their projects to David and Dara, getting industry feedback and a glimpse into the world of working on client-facing projects at a professional level.

Getting feedback for our students from industry is very much at the heart of what we do at Escape Studios, and there is no better way to get our students up to industry standard than to bring in professionals to critique their work.
