I’m sorry but this is going to be a short review. Not because it’s bad but more that it is a film that is beyond criticism. It’s just a great film.

I should start by saying that when you watch COME BACK ANY TIME, and it’s when as opposed to if, be sure you do so on a full stomach. Additionally be sure you have plans to eat afterward. I say this because even if you are full you will be hungry by the time it’s done.

COME BACK is the story of ---- and his wife. They run a long standing ramen shop in Tokyo. The film is a loving portrait of the ----, their food and their customers. The customers are big part of the story here since there love for the food makes us want to hop on a plane and go try it ourselves.  Understand that I am very serious about this- and I don’t particularly like Ramen but I want to go try this ramen.

I honestly don’t know what to say beyond this is a great film. It’s just a film that makes us feel good, and very hungry. This is a film that is good time with great people.(and it has a great score)

One of the very best films at DOC NYC and  probably one of the year as well.
