Mute (2021) London Rocks Film Festival
Mute is a short Stephen King adaption that is more thriller than horror film. It’s the story of book salesman who confesses to his priest about something that happened on the road when he picked up a hitchhiker.
While there are some flashbacks to what happened, this is largely just two people talking. It is a film that thrives on the power of a person telling a story. We are drawn in just because we get hooked by the way the story unfolds via two people talking.
This is neat little film. This is the sort of thing that would have been on one of the old anthology shows like Alfred Hitchcock Presents of the Boris Karloff series Thriller.
I’m not going to say more, not because the film is bad rather because discussing the film won’t really reveal the joy of the film which is enhanced the power of the performances.
This is a film to track down.
