A gravedigger is deeply effected by the covid crisis and it is threatening to destroy the relationship with his family.
As a rule I don’t want to see anything about the current pandemic. Not only are too many filmmakers basically telling the same stories, many are trying to deduce what it all means before we have escaped it and had time to reflect. Where possible I avoid covid stories.
However with the focus of the film not on the house bound or those in the hospitals, I decided to give the film a shot. The result I was happily surprised.
A beautifully acted film this is the story of a father and a daughter trying to navigate through the pandemic craziness. It’s a lovely portrait of two people being beaten up by the world and trying not to lose each other. I was moved. Actually I was so moved that I watched the film a second time.
This is a small gem with a big kick
